Position Overview
You will open and grow VTG's private equity channel: sponsors, operating partners and their portfolio companies. You sell recurring managed services and professional services that make portfolio companies easier to integrate, secure and scale, from diligence through exit. This is a hunter role for an experienced seller who is comfortable opening new sponsor relationships and driving expansion and growth across the portfolio. It is measured on net-new bookings at margin, weighted toward recurring revenue, with an expectation of $2M in net new bookings over the first full 12 months in role following ramp. We are looking for a seller who brings established relationships and know-how in the private capital market; direct experience working with private equity sponsors and privately backed companies is key.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver $2M in net new bookings over the first full 12 months in role following ramp.
  • Build relationships with private equity operating partners, deal teams and portfolio CIOs and CFOs across a defined target list of sponsors.
  • Self-source the majority of pipeline through direct outreach to sponsors, operating partners and portfolio executives, and maintain the coverage required to deliver the annual target.
  • Position VTG for IT due diligence, 100-day plans, carve-outs, platform integrations and add-on onboarding.
  • Convert project work into recurring managed services and cybersecurity agreements, and expand each sponsor win into additional portfolio companies.
  • Run full-cycle sales: prospecting, discovery, solution scoping with delivery leaders, proposals, pricing and close.
  • Partner with SDRs and marketing on sponsor-focused campaigns, events and referrals.
  • Keep every opportunity current in Salesforce: stage, next step, close date, amount, Lead Source and product category.

Minimum Requirements

  • 5+ years selling IT services or managed services, with a record of closing new logos at $100K+ annual value.
  • Demonstrated track record of consistently meeting or exceeding $2M+ annual net-new bookings quotas in a hunter role.
  • Direct experience selling to and working with private equity sponsors, operating partners and privately backed (private equity, growth equity or family office) companies.
  • Established relationships across sponsors, operating partners and portfolio company executives that you can activate from day one.
  • Comfort selling multi-entity, multi-year programs and presenting to CFO and board-level buyers.
  • Strong executive presence and ability to communicate complex IT concepts to non-technical financial stakeholders.
  • Excellent negotiation, objection-handling, and contract-closing skills for long-cycle sales.
  • Disciplined CRM habits and forecasting accuracy.
  • Ability to travel up to 40% to meet with private equity firms and portfolio leadership.

Preferred Requirements

  • Working knowledge of M&A IT workstreams: diligence, integration, carve-out, TSA exit, cybersecurity remediation.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, IT, or a related field (MBA is a plus).
  • Prior experience working directly within a Private Equity firm, as an operating partner, or in a PE-backed portfolio company.
  • Familiarity with major cloud platforms and cybersecurity frameworks often evaluated during IT due diligence.

Voluntary Self-Identification of Disability
Voluntary Self-Identification of Disability Form CC-305
OMB Control Number 1250-0005
Expires 07/31/2029
Why are you being asked to complete this form?

We are a federal contractor or subcontractor. The law requires us to provide equal employment opportunity to qualified people with disabilities. We have a goal of having at least 7% of our workers as people with disabilities. The law says we must measure our progress towards this goal. To do this, we must ask applicants and employees if they have a disability or have ever had one. People can become disabled, so we need to ask this question at least every five years.

Completing this form is voluntary, and we hope that you will choose to do so. Your answer is confidential. No one who makes hiring decisions will see it. Your decision to complete the form and your answer will not harm you in any way. If you want to learn more about the law or this form, visit the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) website at www.dol.gov/ofccp.
